The meeting was called to order at
Treasurer=
8217;s
Report
There is no change in the financials from the last
meeting. The registration che=
ques
will be deposited soon. Jacki=
e is
working on a 2009/10 budget for the next meeting. There is an OMHA invoice for the 2=
009/10
insurance in the amount of $5314.95.
Lion’=
s Club
The Monkton Lions need at least $6400 to get the groce=
ry
card project going. This woul=
d give
them the initial $20,000 needed to get back the 5%. This would be a loan to the projec=
t. Our money would be returned.

Referees
Per Joe, Jamie Dewar will be Referee-in-Chief again for
the upcoming season. Joe woul=
d like
to have someone collect the referee sheets monthly and prepare the report f=
or
the treasurer. This will be a=
dded
to the fundraising board.
Registratio=
n
We have some families who are struggling to pay for ho=
ckey
this season. The applications=
for
Jumpstart closed at the end of July.
Jackie will follow up to see if there are any further opportunities =
for
funding under this program. J=
eff
Earl will follow up with the Monkton Lions and Joe will follow up with the
Atwood Lions and WOAA to see if they would support us on this. Dennis wondered if we could consid=
er it
a loan, with the families paying as they are able, while Joe wondered if we
could cover half with the families paying the other half on a payment
plan. The worst case scenario=
is
kid’s not playing hockey, and the consensus was that we would not lik=
e to
see this happen, and would work to support these families to keep them in
hockey, if possible. Jackie w=
ill
follow up with the families.
Coaches
Jeff has all of the coaches lined up except for the at=
om
team; he has someone who is considering it and will know soon. The coach’s meeting will be =
held
on Wednesday, September 16th at
Teams
We don’t have enough tykes for a team, and there=
is
currently not a tyke league. =
In
Mitchell, the tykes are senior CHIPS, not tyke. We decided to make a CHIPS 2, and =
Dakota
Leung, Nathan Earl, Nick McCourt, Boyd Kirkham, Lucas Quipp and Darren Kloo=
stra
would be eligible to move up. This
will require a further registration fee of $125 to cover their extra ice ti=
me. We discussed whether they should b=
e a
Novice LL team, however, this will be decided after we get some skating
in. Joe will follow up with O=
MHA to
see if we can register them as instructional and still bring them up to Nov=
ice
if needed.
The atom team is still going to be one team unless more
kids register,
Quintin McEwen is injured and won’t be able to s=
tart
with the midgets until at least January.&n=
bsp;
He is not going to register this fall, but if he can return midway
through the year, he will register then.&n=
bsp;
We don’t have to submit the final OMHA player’s list or =
the
OMHA insurance reconciliation until January.
Jackie will put registration ads in the school newslet=
ters
at Elma, Upper Thames, Grey, Ellice,

Any unused ice time should be reported immediately so =
that
it can be given to another team for a practice.  =
;
Wednesdays are available until curling begins on Novem=
ber
11th. There are 8 =
hours
of ice time available. We dis=
cussed
options for using this time including, 4 weeks of juvenile practice,
peewee/bantam body checking clinic or power skating. Further discussion on body checking
clinic - we have body bags for stationary checking training, and we could
follow up with the Wildcats, Bob Johns, Charlie Smith or Kevin Ward to have
someone lead this clinic.

Mitchell
Minor Hockey is apparently miffed with us and the OWHA over Tori
Terpstra’s release.
=
· =
We
will be building storage at the west end of the arena, just off of the ice =
to
store coaching aids, pucks etc… that the coaches will need during
practice.
=
· =
Ryan
has updated the website, and made changes.=
We discussed adding the meeting minutes, last season’s award
winners and the schedule to the website.&n=
bsp;
We decided we should try to make better use of the website this year=
.
=
· =
The
arena addition proposed plans were looked at. We suggested changes to Dennis to =
take
back to the next meeting including making three dressing rooms rather than =
two
on the south side so that teams are divided; this would leave one of the
existing dressing rooms to be divided for storage and an additional
referees/girls room.
=
· =
Ryan
will be coaching the Juveniles again.
Dennis is looking into September ice time in Mitchell for two nights=
to
get them started.
=
· =
Albert
is working on getting the Boy’s Tournament filled up.
